once the bread basket of Africa where did it all go wrong for Zimbabwe. Zanu-PF is what is wrong with Zimbabwe. forty-one years ago Robert Mugabe inherited a well diversified economy with potential to become the best is in Africa. Unfortunately that wasn't going to be. More than 60 percentage of the population of Zimbabwe once seen as the bread basket of Africa is now food secure, with most households unable to survive or obtain any food to meet basic needs due to hyperinflation.
In rural areas most Zimbabweans have been hit the the hardest all because if there is no rain they will starve and that means they cant harvest and the worst of it is that the government are not helping these people as a result 2.2 million people are food insecure and lack access to minimum public service, including health and water yet the people who run the country Zanu-PF are living the lavish life where they don't have shortage of anything and their fellow Zimbabweans are suffering.
These figures are shocking and the crisis only worsens due to poverty, high unemployment, widespread corruption from Zanu-pf, poor agricultural productivity, and economic sanctions. Children as young as six months to two years are not consuming the minimum diet as the result kids are stunted and underweight all because their mothers are not getting adequate food.
School drop-outs, early marriage, prostitution, and sexual exploitation are on the rise in throughout Zimbabwe. One would think what was happening to Zimbabweans the government Zanu-Pf would take action but that would fall on deaf ears. In 2009 Zimbabwe was forced its currency which had gone to inferno hyperinflation. 2016 bond notes were introduced these backed by hard currency but have quickly deteriorated in vallue. This shows Zimbabwe is laid low with corruption the government is so corrupt that they have killed every golden goose from farming, industry manufacturing to mining the list goes on, now we have Emmerson Mnanagwa equally as incompetent and corrupt. Zimbabwe is a story of tragedy and lost opportunity.
