Opposition under threat

Citizens of Zimbabwe hoped the nation of Zimbabwe would find its way from dictatorship to democracy when Emmerson Mnanagwa became the president of Zimbabwe which saw former president of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe militarily removed from the office in November 2017 after 37 years in office, which would in tell the first real leadership transition since 1980. The contenders were Emmerson Mnangagwa and a young lawyer named Nelson Chamisa who promised economic revival and political change which the current party Zanu PF were unable to do for the past 42 years. Everyone hoped for a new page since Zimbabweans have been oppressed by Zanu PF regime for so long.

Without a doubt the opposition party alleged fraud, which is commonly known in Zimbabwe when election time comes Zanu Pf always rig the votes. When the people went to protest the police and soldiers fired and killed several unarmed citizens which in fact the orders came from the vice president Constantino Chiwenga.

During the elections Emmerson Mnanagwa's government has ruthelessly cracked down on the opposition, police have beaten and arrested dozens of Chamisa's supporters before, during and after the elections, and it also known that Mnanagwa's backers have conducted house to house searchers for opposition leaders. I mean what sort of world do we live in? If you oppose the government of Zimbabwe you would be dealt with deadly force. Now we have the 2023 elections coming up in Zimbabwe and the Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has boldly threatened the opposition CCC( Citizens Coalition for Change) saying the ruling party Zanu Pf are ready to crush the party like lice to prevent the  its party leader Nelson Chamisa from winning the elections. Is there ever going to be change in Zimbabwe with these sort of threats?
